  • FIRST 2000 DAYS – Importance of Foetal movement with Sue Ellis-Crewe – Registered Nurse and Midwife.
  • HOME BIRTHING – Natural and physiological birth with Megan Nourse – ‘Birth Sisters’ Privately Endorsed Midwife and Doula / Educator.
  • BIRTHING IN THE LOCAL SYSTEM – Induction, choices and consent with Karen O’Neill – Registered Nurse and Midwife.
  • BREATH FOR BIRTH – Mind Preparation with connection with Lea Bailey – “Optimal Midwifery“  Midwife.
  • LACTATION – How the breasts works. First weeks of life and breast feeding with Rachel Rivers – ‘Little B Baby Clinic’ Central Coast, Lactation Consultant / Midwife.
  • YOGA NIDRA – Yoga Nidra session to finish off the day with Nadine Scotcher – Yoga Teacher / Yoga Mantra and Wellness Centre Owner.

FULL DAY WORKSHOP INCLUDES:

  • Morning guided meditation.
  • Morning tea and lunch.
  • Discussions with five highly experienced Midwives with extensive knowledge of Pre and Post-Natal Care, Birthing and Lactation.

NADINE SCOTCHER
Owner of Yoga Mantra and Wellness Centre / Yoga Teacher

Nadine is a local girl who went to school in this area in the 80’s… and, proud mumma of four beautiful grown up children.

 

KAREN O’NEILL
Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife

Karen O’Neill is a Registered Nurse for over 25 years, furthermore, a Registered Midwife for the past 8 years. Karen supports women through ‘The Rite of Passage of Child Birth’. She advocates and mindfully educates women on their rights and choices around birth. Karen’s passion is about relieving fears around birth, while empowering women to make decisions to enable the best positive outcome within the medical system.

 

MEGAN NOURSE 
Privately Endorsed Midwife / Doula / Educator

Megan Nourse is the Director of ‘Birthsister Holistic Midwifery Services’ and has been a birth worker since 1994. Megan started out as a Doula and since 2008 has continued her studies through ‘Childbirth International’ to become a Childbirth Educator, a Calmbirth Practitioner. In 2009 Megan and her business partner opened ‘Birthsisters’ as a birth information and Support Service; providing Doula Services, Educational Programs and Support. In 2012 Megan commenced her Midwifery Training and is now fulfilling her ultimate dream and providing holistic continuity of care in a ‘home birth model’. Proudly she commenced Private Practice in 2019. Megan continues to support women to develop personal empowerment through informed choice.

 

RACHEL RIVERS
Registered Midwife / Lactation Consultant

Rachel Rivers has been a Registered Midwife for over 20 Years, and in 2007 also gained the distinguished qualification of International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant. She has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, working with families in one of Life’s most incredible yet vulnerable and often complex periods. She has worked exclusively in the field of lactation for the past four years. Rachel has a passion for empowering women to achieve their breastfeeding goals, whatever they may be. Her approach is always gentle, practical, and family-centred. For every wonderfully unique breastfeeding journey she has the privilege to be involved in, she provides expert support, guidance and plenty of handy tips and tricks.

 

LEA BAILEY
Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife / Calmbirth Practitioner

Lea is a Registered Nurse of 28 Years, A Registered Eligible Midwife and Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. Proud to be a Calmbirth Practitioner for over 12 years. Lea is a Midwifery Reflexologist and Acupressure Therapist. She is passionate about supporting women and acknowledging their personal empowerment by creating ‘Breathe4Birth’. Lea believes this creation allows women to be educated in ‘Fearless Birth’ and Connecting hormones to Baby. Education is the Key.

 

SUE ELLIS-CREWE
Registered Nurse / Registered Midwife

Sue completed her general Nursing training at Wagga Wagga in 1978. Additionally, Sue has been a registered Midwife since 1983, having extensive experience working abroad and within Rural and remote areas of Australia.  Sue has also obtained many years’ experience working with indigenous health. Sue has been living in the Mid North Coast of NSW for over 10 years and currently in the post-natal ward at Port Macquarie. Sue’s passion is women’s health and mother crafting. Sue brings joy and love to every birthing mum that she cares for.
